Clothes, Cocktails and Cupcakes

I am ever-so-slightly in love with red Chanel lipstick. I also love The Beatles, Play-doh, history, food and smiling.

All of life’s lessons can be found in Disney films, if only I would listen!

“And it came to me then. That we were wonderful traveling companions but in the end no more than lonely lumps of metal in their own separate orbits. From far off they look like beautiful shooting stars, but in reality they’re nothing more than prisons, where each of us is locked up alone, going nowhere. When the orbits of these two satellites of ours happened to cross paths, we could be together. Maybe even open our hearts to each other. But that was only for the briefest moment. In the next instant we’d be in absolute solitude. Until we burned up and became nothing.”

Haruki Murakami, Sputnick Sweetheart.

This is so sad but so beautiful. I love Murakami, it just feels like his words are magical.

Some people bring out the worst in you, others bring out the best, and then there are those remarkably rare, addictive ones who just bring out the most. Of everything. They make you feel so alive that you’d follow them straight into hell, just to keep getting your fix.

I am a firm believer in the fact that most people are genuinely good people. Sometimes it comes along and bites me in the arse. But I like the fact I believe in the good in people, it makes the world a much better place.
